A Krummi Thanksgiving

NOVEMBER 21 – 26, 2017

Perhaps you have been wondering, “What in the hell is all the brouhaha about with American Thanksgiving? What is this gluttony, this over indulgence, this riotous affection for the Great American Meal? And what is it with this Black Friday shopping? Are the deals that great that people get crushed to death and shot because of a flat screen TV on sale? I sure wish Krummi Travel would get it together and instead of shipping no cry babies, cranks, and pantywaists to Iceland, would offer something for me!”

The wait is over Icelandic Childrens…

Krummi Travel presents “A Krummi Thanksgiving”. This five night / six day adventure exposes you to the beauty and conspicuous consumption of the most anticipated holiday in the USA. But wait… there’s more…because a pair of children’s underwear costs $90 USD in Iceland, you will be carted around to do some good old-fashioned, gun wielding, Black Friday bargain shopping at malls and outlets, and wherever you care to be escorted. All of this coupled with beautiful New England scenery, a home-cooked Thanksgiving feast, and your very own on board candy bag makes “A Krummi Thanksgiving” a trip to cherish.

November 21  Day 1: Welcome to the USA!

Fly from Keflavik to New York City on Icelandair. Upon arrival collect your bags. Waiting outside will be the smiling face of Gerri Griswold, owner of Krummi Travel LLC and whatever poor sucker has been assigned to us as our driver. We’ll head directly north having a light meal along the way. Check into your hotel.

November 22  Day 2: Mass Appeal

After an early breakfast at the hotel board the van making your way north to Massachusetts and a charming town, Great Barrington with some lovely boutique shopping and cafes for your consideration. Continue north though beautiful Stockbridge, home of the Norman Rockwell Museum which you won’t be visiting because this trip is all about eating and shopping. Our destination is Lee and its Premium Outlets (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/lee/stores). You’ll be unleashed for several hours before hopping on the van. Early dinner will be at the beautiful Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. Head home after that and relax…you’ll need it. Tomorrow is an eating marathon.

November 23 Day 3 : Thanksgiving Day

Sleep late. After breakfast you can take a walk or do some stretching. Put on your expandable pants and board the bus for lovely Milton and the community hall located on a quintessential New England Green where we will be indulging in the best that a good old fashioned Thanksgiving has to offer. Home cooked by Gerri Griswold and her team of incomparable kind hearted slaves…turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, some sort of vegetable because if we don’t offer it we feel guilty (it can be fed to Abe the Pig later), homemade bread, cranberry sauce, and a thoroughly mind boggling embarrassment of pies for dessert. We might be enticed to take a scenic walk around Milton after dinner. This is what Thanksgiving is all about…sharing with friends. After dinner return to the hotel and enjoy your food coma. You have only yourself to blame. (BYOB..we aren’t THAT much into sharing)

November 24 Day 4: BLACK FRIDAY

Pack your assault weapons, we are going shopping! After breakfast board the bus and head to Westfarms Mall (http://www.shopwestfarms.com/shopping)  for some hardcore Black Friday shopping! After a couple of wearying hours you will head south to Clinton Crossing Outlets (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/clinton-crossing/stores) Scoop up some deals at these wonderful shops before making your way to lovely Old Saybrook or perhaps Mystic(time permitting) where we might catch a glimpse of the Viking ship Drakon which is moored at the seaport through 2018. Dinner will be at a lovely local restaurant before the long drive home.

November 25 Day 5: Exploring Your Home Turf

After breakfast you’ll be taken to some local shopping haunts like Walmart and Target. In the afternoon join Gerri Griswold at the White Memorial Conservation Center www.whitememorialcc.org for a beautiful hike along the Cranberry Pond Trail with a food bribe at the end of the hike. Visit the Nature Museum and learn about this precious wildlife sanctuary. Dinner will be All-American and is none of your beeswax.

November 26: Head Home via NYC

Board the van early as we have some power shopping to do! We’ll be heading to New York City for several hours of power shopping and sight seeing before heading to the airport for your evening flight home.
